Jewel Box with Lid using English Paper Piecing- Full Day (6 hour) Workshop

English Paper Piecing is HOT, HOT, HOT! You can’t go to a guild meeting without someone working with them because they are so portable. My book, Not Just Hexies, is featured on The Quilt Show (Episode #1507). The book features 8 contemporary projects in 29 different sizes using hexagons, diamonds, triangles, squares, rectangles, pentagons, octagons and yes even circles. The projects are all small useful items made with as few as 13 pieces! They are made using fusible and Paper Pieces in ½”, ¾”, 1”, 1 ½”and 2” sizes.

In this workshop we will be making the Jewel Box with circular lid using 3/4" Paper Pieces, fusible and English Paper Piecing. This is one of eight projects featured in my book, Not Just Hexies. The Jewel Box measures 2" X 2" X 2 3/4" in size.

At the end of the workshop you will not only have a finished (or nearly finished) item, but you will have learned the basic technique used for all 8 projects and all 29 sizes! The Jewel Box, for example, can both be made in 3 basic shapes and nine different sizes! They are addictive to make and are great gifts.

There will be a small kit fee to make the Jewel Box (students will provide the fabric). The book, Not Just Hexies, and Paper Piece packs to make the projects in the book will be available for purchase, but are not necessary to attend the workshop.
